Wow! We are officially busy! This past weekend was non-stop but really fun. Emma is playing "Fall Ball" softball at Oak Mountain. She had practice Saturday, a birthday party that evening (which was fun!), and a game Sunday.Emma played last spring for the Pelham League. When she played for them she was the youngest on the team. She learned so much and had so much fun! This go around, she is one of the older girls and one of about 3 that have played before. Randy is also helping to coach this group. Let me just tell you, it is so cute! Fall ball is more relaxed and that takes some getting used to! Emma did get the game ball and was very proud. Of course we had to have the whole "lets be humble" talk on the way home. She definately has a lot of self confidence! The game was terribly hot and Davis fell asleep on the way home and actually stayed asleep while we moved him! He slept until 6 pm!
While our sweet tornado was sleeping, I thought "hey, Houston has never layed on the quilt in the floor!?" I am so worried about him being stepped on, picked up, sat on, etc. that he doesn't really get tummy time. So, for the first time, I put the quilt down and layed him on his tummy. He pulled his legs up and flipped over so fast! I couldn't believe it! It just made me think, "uh-oh, he is going to be on the move before I know it!"
It is Monday and Emma's first day missing school! She has a fever and a scratchy throat. I thought she would be disappointed to stay home, but guess what??? She really liked the idea of staying home and resting, watching tv, etc! I can see now why my parents had a hard time telling if we were really sick! This past Thursday we had a conference with Emma's teacher. Her teacher is great and I really really like her. The only compaint she had of Emma was that she had to remind her of who the teacher is! ha...we were not suprised!
Tuesday morning we are taking Davis in to Children's South for his 4th set of tubes! They keep getting blocked. This last set only lasted 6 months. The ENT that we use is thinking he will need to take allergy shots on a weekly basis to keep the tubes from blocking. We really need to get his ears cleared up. It is having a huge effect on his speech. Davis has qualified for some speech therapy and other services through the Alabama Early Intervention system which seems to be going well. We also have him on a waiting list for speech therapy through Children's. Please pray that he does well in the surgery and begins to hear clearly. We are at a critical point as far as development goes.
While you are praying for Davis, my cousin and her family have a very big, important day this Thursday the 11th. Please pray that God gives them the strength to face whatever is handed to them this week.
Football....It is back and I cannot belive it. There is something about it that just puts us in a good mood. I know Randy and I cheer for different teams, but that is what makes it fun I think. I have to say though, I think Randy thought I would have given in by now...NO WAY! Roll Tide! Thursday night as we were watching Vandy and S.C. I was thinking of my dad and how much he loved it and wanted everyone to love it with him and have a good time.
My camera is on the fritz......well, i think it is finished. I am going to try to get it fixed but it is about three years old...is the digital camera like the computer??? Do they just quit after a while? I will try to post pics sometime this week. In my spare time! ha!
